Wrap-and-Go Skirt
Pattern Review: Butterick 6809
Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven..
Happy Friday Eve!! I'm not sure about you guys but I'm extremely excited it's almost Friday. As promised, I'm trying to carve out more time to blog more and do pattern reviews. And I'll also try to update you guys on what's going on with my business (YS Collection). This week on both of my instagram pages I announced 2 things I'm currently working on for SewUrbane and Yetunde Sarumi Collection.
For SewUrbane, I announced my partnership with an organization called Africa's Daughters Foundation. We're currently working on the ADF Seamless Change Initiative to build entrepreneurial expertise among young women and girls in some of the most under served communities throughout Africa. We've chosen the country will be going to first and will start fundraising soon. If you'd like to donate to the Seamless Change fund, click HERE. More details to come.
For my business (YS Collection), I announced that we'll be showcasing at RAW DC. This would be our very first fashion show. I'm super excited and can't wait to see it all put together. :D To find out more about RAWartists, click HERE. To purchase ticket for the show, click HERE.
About the Wrap-and-Go Skirt, I decided to try my hand in a vintage pattern and came across Butterick 6809. It's an evening length wrap skirt, with self tie closure. I purchased the medium pattern size. The instructions were pretty easy to follow and I didn't make any pattern alterations. I used an Ankara fabric from my stash.
