Do MORE of What Makes You HAPPY!

Hi Everyone! Yay for my first pattern review in almost 2 months.. O_O Glad to be back sewing for myself and reviewing patterns, I've missed it. Anyway, I wore this dress to church and a friend's surprise graduation party. It's definitely a dress that I'll be making again. Maybe in a solid color next time. The Fabric is AMAZING (details below) I love the fact that it has a boarder on the selvage.. I used the boarder for the hemline and facing on the sleeves. The colors/designs on the fabric reminded me of a painting done using watercolor. Kinda cool.

Pattern Review: V9021

Pattern Description: Fitted dress has front and back extending into sleeves, low armholes, back zipper and hemline slit.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the website once you were done sewing with it? Yes, without the peplum.

Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were extremely easy to follow. A beginner can make it, as long as you can install a zipper.

What did you particularly like about the pattern? The SLEEVES!!! I call it the butterfly sleeves.. very fashion forward and stylish. The pattern itself was simple, but the sleeves were the focal point. Loved it!

Fabric Used: Ankara (cotton) by Da Viva

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:  I added a high-low peplum, took off an inch and a half at the hem, and made the skirt more pencil-like.

Would you sew it again? Most definitely.. Once I find another perfect fabric for it.

Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I'd recommend to others.. Not bad for beginners.

  4. Excellent review Yetunde!

This is the first time I've been inspired to purchase a pattern following a sewist's review, but then again this is a pretty pattern and your fabric choice was so lovely.

I like how you added your own twist with the peplum detail, great job.
