SLIDER

Skirt-Over-Dress

"Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere." - Albert Einstein

Hi Urbanites! How are you all doing? It's been a while since I've blogged. I've missed it and missed you guys. I really really do.... :/

Okay moving on to the outfit I'm wearing, which I wore to a friends' wedding. I made the dress using Burda Style 7178. This is actually my first time sewing a Burda Style pattern, can you believe it? It was pretty interesting how they put the patterns together.. For example, I've never made a dress that has a lining and also a neck & arm hole facing. There was also an underlap for the slit which I didn't understand, so I omitted it. I chose the pattern because I wanted something different and unique, but not over the top for the wedding. I searched the internet to see if others have made the dress and wanted to see what it looks like on them but I wasn't able to find someone that had made the skirt-over-dress version.

I've been noticing the skirt-over-pants trend everywhere, and wanted to make something that represents me, something classy and stylish. By the way, the dress is fully lined, but not the skirt. Also, they are 2 separate pieces that can be worn on their own. I decided to pair my outfit with a gold belt and a pair of gold shoes I wore at my traditional wedding.

Thanks for stopping by..

xo, Yetunde.

  1. That's definitely different - I've never seen this style before. The dress turned out well and looks great on you. I love the fabric!
