All Stars Ankara Cigarette Pants

It is amazing that this is my last blog post of the year 2013.. Looking back to the beginning of the year, I have come a long way and have grown a lot. I just THANK GOD for HIS Protection, Guidance, Support, and LOVE for me. A lot of GREAT things happened this year (Faith, Love, Family, Friendship, Business, and Career wise) and I am super excited and looking forward to seeing the GREATNESS that will come out of 2014. The Future is Exciting! ;)

I also thank God for adding another blessed year to my Life this month! (Happy Birthday to Me!!) I won't go into too much details about my Birthday, but it was one of my Best Birthdays Ever. ;) I went Skiing for the first time, so now I can cross it off my Grand Adventure List

About The Fabric: A fellow Sewnista and also a December baby (Biodun aka ABs) gifted me this beautiful ankara fabric made by Vlisco. It is gorgeous in person and it feels good to touch. She chose the color blue because is our birth month's color. She also bought herself and another friend of ours the fabric, which we all decided to make and wear to church on the last Sunday of the Month.

As soon as I saw and felt the fabric, I knew exactly what I wanted to make.. I chose to make New Look 0916/6231 (Jacket and Pants) but unfortunately the Finished Garment Measurement for the Jacket was missing. Since I didn't have enough time to figure it out, I decided to make a Peplum Top I've made before (View Here: Chevron Print Peplum Top).

Pattern Review (New Look 0916/6231; View D - Pants)

Description: Misses pants have a side zipper.

Fabric Used: Ankara / Wax Print made by Vlisco. Purchased from Obokun African Fabric and Design, Hyattsville, MD.

Pattern Sizing: I cut out pattern Size 8. View D; Pants

Were the Instructions easy to follow? Yes, very easy and straight forward.

Likes or Dislikes about the Pattern: I like that I didn't have to make any alterations to the pants pattern. It was like it was made just for me.

Pattern Alterations or Design Changes made:  The only changes I made was that I hemmed it at 5/8 inches instead on 1 1/4 inches as suggested.

Would you Sew it again? Definitely, this is now my Cigarette Pants go to pattern.

Here is the outfit I made for Akua.. She rocked it very well!!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog..
Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
God Bless!
