DIY Wrap Coat with Side Pockets
During the summer, I saw one of my sewing class classmates make a white winter coat. I was so inspired by her that I added "Make a Coat" to my "To Sew List".
I came across this easy Wrap Coat pattern from McCall's, M6442. I chose to sew View C.
Pattern Review (M6442)
Description: Lined, wrap coat, semi-fitted through bustline, has waistline seam, covered shoulder pads, side seam pockets and flared at lower edge.
Fabric Used: Wool Blend Coating; Lining: Polyester Lining Dark Rose. Both Fabric from Fabric.com
Pattern Sizing: I cut out a Size 6
Were the Instructions easy to follow? Yes, they were pretty straight forward and easy to follow.
Likes or Dislikes about the Pattern: I like how easy the directions were and also the fact that there are so many options for this pattern. You can make it shorter, and a hoody and so on. What I don't like is the fact that I had to handsew the lining at the waist and arm hole. Lol but that's because I don't like hand sewing.
Pattern Alterations or Design Changes made: No pattern alterations or changes. I topstiched all the edges of the coat including the collar.
Would you Sew it again? Yes, I'd to make a lighter version for Spring.
Gorgeous coat! I'm so inspired!
