Travel/What I Wore: North Carolina
Vogue Pattern 1314 Misses' Dress

I needed something to wear for my friend's 30th Birthday party in North Carolina, so I decided that I'd make a dress instead of buying one. When I saw the Vogue 1314 pattern, I knew it would be the perfect dress if I can find the right fabric. Finding the fabric was the toughest part of this project. But thanks to the man behind Olumaechi.com, we chose to go with the Animal Print-like knit fabric from Michael Levine Inc. (LowPriceFabric.com). Once the fabric got delivered  I really wasn't feeling it, but decided to make the dress anyway. I ended up loving the the dress after putting it on.. So glad I made it.. :)

Pattern Review (V1314)

Pattern Description: Pullover, close-fitting, lined dress has draped sides and narrow hem.

Fabric Used: Cream / Black  ITY Knit Print; but for the lining, I used a stretch mesh lining so that I won't get too hot wearing a long sleeve dress in the summer.

Pattern Sizing: After reading others pattern reviews, I decided to go a size down and cut out a size 8. Which was perfect because the dress ended up fitting just right and not too tight.

Were the Instructions easy to follow?  Yes, but the gathering might be a bit of a challenge if you're beginner sewer.

Likes or Dislikes about the Pattern: I like that the pattern only has a few pieces to cut out.. and depending on your fabric choice, this dress can be worn all year round.

Pattern Alterations or Design Changes made: None made..

Would you Sew it again? Yes, as soon as I find another fabric.
