Autumn C H I C

Hi Kings and Kweens! :) The week is almost over, Thank God! This week is moving super slow for me.. and I'm even sure why. It's a busy week for me, so I feel like it should have been over by now. smh. Craziest thing happened, I woke up on Tuesday thinking it was Thursday.. like really? That's when I knew that it was going to be a loooong week. I'm not complaining tho, I'm making the best of it regardless.

Okay so, I made this jacket mainly because I've had the pattern in my stash for a long time and finally found the perfect fabric for it. I knew that I wanted to use Ankara fabric, I just wasn't feeling the fabric I had for this pattern. Anyway, I was invited as one of the VIP Fashion Blogger to Boulevard of Chic's Fashion Truck Rally and decided to wear my freshly made Ankara Jacket. You can view pictures from the event here and pattern review below. I absolutely love everything about this jacket, the pattern and fabric. I paired it with a pair of jeans I've had since college, and a pair of wedge heels I purchased from Burlington.

Pattern Review: V9037

Pattern Description: Loose-fitting, unlined, double-breasted jacket has collar variations, front and back tucks, shaped front hemline and snap closing

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, I believe so.

Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were extremely easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that the pattern was very easy to put together. And that there were not a lot of pattern pieces to cut out. And I actually like that it wasn't lined. It was the quickest jacket I've ever made.

Fabric Used: I used an Ankara fabric / Wax print I purchased while in New York, from AKN fabrics and Textiles

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made view A of the pattern, but made the sleeves longer.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?  Most definitely, I actually enjoyed making this jacket. I can't wait to make it using Knit fabric and other Ankara fabric. I thought working with this fabric print would be a bit challenging but it wasn't at all. And the whole thing came out better than I thought it would!

Thank you for stopping by..
