Cross-Back Ankara Tank Top

What I Wore: Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, I woke thinking about what I wanted to wear to the "All Things Nigerian" event in Silver Spring, MD. I wanted to wear something comfortable and simple. Something I can throw on top of my jeans/skirt with some flats and keep it moving. I decided to make the cross-back tank top below using Ankara Fabric. It was quick and easy to make and only took me about 1.5 to 2 hours to make from cutting the finishing.

The "All Things Nigerian" event was okay. They had lots of vendors, a DJ, performers, and of course my favorite part, a fashion show. The fashion show pieces were nicely done and unique.

Can I ever take pictures and not dance? Not All..

For the Sewists, the pattern used is M6751. If you don't sew, I'm making a few until the fabric is no longer in stock. Visit my SHOP to purchase.

  1. I'm just discovering your blog and I love it! I made the same top, but I think yours turned out better. I kept feeling like mine was going to blow open in the back. You can see it on my blog: https://patternandbranch.wordpress.com/2014/05/05/cross-back-shirt-mccalls-m6751/ I'm excited to check out more of your blog. I think I know someone I need to recommend it to, also. Keep up the good work!
